Dr. Jerome J. Schentag earned
his bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the University of Nebraska in Omaha
and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy
in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship
in Clinical Pharmacokinetics at the State University of New York (SUNY)
in Buffalo, then joined the department faculty.
Presently, Dr. Schentag is
Professor of Pharmaceutics and Pharmacy, University at Buffalo School
of Pharmacy. Dr. Schentag also holds the title of Fellow, Center for Entrepreneurial
Leadership, SUNY at Buffalo School of Management. He is a member of numerous
professional societies and holds several professional distinctions, including
the status of Fellow in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.
Dr. Schentag has authored or co-authored more than 260 publications and
serves or has served on the editorial boards of the journals Pharmacotherapy,
Annals of Pharmacotherapy, Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, Pharmaceutical
Research, and Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. His research interests
include the effects of diseases on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics
of antibiotics, oncolytics and cardiovascular medications, and the relationships
between pharmacokinetics and toxicity of medications used in critically
ill patients.
